Our Story
There’s a special bond between animals and the people who love them. That same special bond should also exist between veterinarians and their patients.
No one understands this more than the doctors at Hodes Veterinary Group. In fact, when Dr. Hodes opened his Mobile Veterinary Clinic back in 1980, his goal was to treat his patients with the same love and compassion as any two-legged family member would get from their doctor.
Over 40 years later, this love of animals and desire to provide the absolute best medical care has helped the Hodes Veterinary Group grow into a practice of caring and compassionate veterinarians and support staff and loyal pet patients from Mine Hill and the surrounding communities.
Today, Dr Hodes has retired and is living predominantly in Kansas. But he left his practice in good hands. Dr. Kris Conway, a veterinarian who has worked alongside him since 1994, is now the owner and continues to uphold the pet care tradition of Dr. Hodes — treat each pet like they’re a member of our family. Because they are.

Our Doctors
Kristine A. Conway, D.V.M., C.C.R.T.
Kristine graduated from Ross university school of veterinary medicine in January 1989 and joined Hodes Veterinary Group in August 1994. A GP (general practitioner) with a love of surgery, Dr. Kris thoroughly enjoys the challenges of veterinary medicine. In fact, it was this love of veterinary medicine that started her on a mission to improve the quality of life for senior dogs and dogs with disabilities. In 2007, Kristine attended the University of Tennessee’s fast track program for canine rehabilitation and soon after started Aqua Dog Rehabilitation, now Aqua Dog and Cat Rehabilitation. She later completed the canine rehabilitation Institute program in 2012 for her CCRT.
When Dr. Hodes decided to semi-retire in 2017, Dr. Kris (as she is known by most of her clients) stepped in to become the new owner of Hodes Veterinary Group.
A workaholic by nature, she finds relaxation by training and competing with her dogs, working in her yard, and sailing in far away exotic places.

Joanne E. Troeger, D.V.M.
Dr. Troeger joined Hodes Veterinary Group after graduating from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine almost thirty years ago, and stays at Hodes because she appreciates being able to provide a high level of care to her patients within a very collaborative team of highly skilled colleagues. She enjoys the challenges of small animal medicine, exotics, and avians (including chickens!).
Dr. Troeger stays current in veterinary medicine through frequent attendance at conferences and workshops through the NJ Veterinary Medical Assn. and stays current with the USDA APHIS National Veterinary Accreditation Program in order to provide health certificates for international travel with pets.
She shares her home in Millington with her husband and children, plus three mini dachshunds who can be found burrowing together much of the time, a cockatiel and a parakeet, an angelfish named Frog, a guinea pig named Daphne who was found abandoned in the woods, and two cats named Chaos and Small Cat (who thinks she is a dog).
She holds leadership positions with the Boy Scouts, specifically supporting the scouts’ merit badges in Veterinary Medicine, Pets, and Dog Care. Her bagpipes are frequently heard throughout her neighborhood.

Katelyn E. Felts, D.V.M.
Dr. Felts joined the team of veterinarians at Hodes Veterinary Group in January 2013 — immediately after graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Growing up on a horse farm inspired Dr. Felts to follow a career in veterinary. She enjoys small animal medicine and has a special interest in surgery. She also works with horses.
Outside of work, you can always find Dr. Felts at the barn with her two horses, Boston and Rio. When she isn’t training for show jumping, or at a horse show, she takes pleasure in spending time with her husband and 2 dogs.

Raymond A. Czarnecki, D.V.M.
Dr. Czarnecki always had an interest in veterinary medicine. In fact, he’s been working at Hodes Veterinary Group since he was 15 years old. First, in the kennels and then as a technician.
He graduated from Kansas State University with an Animal Science degree with a pre-vet option. While attending college full-time, Dr. Czarniecki supported himself working as a carpenter on the weekends and tending bar at night.
Since graduating from Kansas State Veterinary School in May of 2015, he’s had the opportunity to work with all different types of animals — from zoo animals to cats and dogs. That’s what he loves about veterinary medicine. No day is ever the same and you never know what's going to be walking through the door next.
Outside of work his interests include any and all sports, hiking, surfing, and most outdoor activities and he is almost always smiling. You will note that he talks with his hands.

Jenn Stollery, Office Manager, Fear Free Elite Certified
Animals have always been Jenn's first love. At the age of 14, she started in the veterinary field as a kennel worker. Wanting to do even more, she trained to be a veterinary technician. From there, she moved on to the front desk learning the customer relations side of the business. Today, she combines her knowledge of working in various roles at different veterinary practices to take on a leadership role here at Hodes Veterinary Group as Office Manager.
Certified in small animal massage from Northwest School of Animal Massage, Jenn is very passionate about animal rehabilitation. In fact, if you’re looking for Jenn, there’s a good chance she’s either helping a client with training difficulties or talking someone’s ear off about the importance of fitness and mental stimulation in companion animals.
When Jenn isn’t in the office spending time around animals, you’ll find her doing something that she really loves — spending time around animals. She volunteers at the Raptor Trust caring for the resident raptors and at Cavalier Rescue USA supporting her favorite breed. She also teaches canine agility and trains her own dogs in agility and nosework. And when she finally goes home, she has a zoo of pets ready to keep her entertained.
